My name is Eduardo Bendek. I am a Research Scientist at NASA Ames Research Center devoted to the advancement of new technologies that can enable the detection and direct imaging of exoplanets from ground and space.
I have more than 10 years of experience in advanced astronomical instrumentation development, such as Laser Adaptive Optics, Infrared optics, and opto-mechanics. I worked for 3 years at the MMT observatory in Arizona and for five years at the ESO’s Very Large Telescope in Chile.
I am a founding partner of Yx ltda (currently Yx Wireless), a company that manufactures advanced telecommunication hardware devices, and have 6 years of experience in startups, product development, and team management.
I graduated with a PhD in Optical Sciences and am a Fulbright Science and Technology Alumni. I am Councillor of the Chile-California Council representing science and technology in particular for astronomy, thus with the role of fostering the development of the astronomical instrumentation and solar energy communities in Chile. Originally from Chile, I currently live in San Francisco, CA.
